Great idea, fragile to put together

These are a brilliant training tool but in spite of my best and most gentle efforts the little plastic lugs that hold the lenses in place are too fragile. On 3 out of the 5 in the pack one lug has snapped off, resulting in the lenses constantly falling out. Disappointing. If this didn’t happen they would definitely be 5/5.

Thanks very much for taking the time to leave us a review. We're glad you like the sim eyes as a training tool but sorry that some of them broke whilst you were putting them together. We can certainly send you replacement ones together with some additional guidance on assembly. We are working on providing more guidance on assembly - to preserve the plastic lugs in assembly you need to press in from the other side of the eye (outside top) with your thumb. This pushes the top in and spreads out the clips such that you can slip the lens between them and then when you release the pressure they securely hold the lens.

Students love these but ...

Having tried these for the first time with students, they seem to like these as they are easier to get used to than human eyes, as they are not permitted by their university to dilate one eye of their fellow students, and the fake eyes show pathology which most students don't exhibit. One additional "eye" to make a set of six would be easier to transport and pack.. A CRAO or BRAO would be a useful addition.
Problem with the self-assembly eyes, and no instructions, is that the lenses have a flat and a curved side. If the curved lens side is placed in first, the retaining clips tend to snap which is disappointing. I will have to use glue to hold a couple in place. That said, I would buy another set. .

Thanks very much for your review which we fully take on board. We're just now working on instructions as you suggest. The CRAO or BRAO are great suggestions and we'll look to create one of these and would then be able to offer a pack of 6 with 6 different eye pathologies.
